About Us

AutoMate is a startup project that looks to provide people with quick access to automotive knowledge. With the help of trusted professionals and specialists, we aim to provide in-person service directly to your garage and assist you with the physically demanding labor and research of building your dream car.

Think of Uber, but for your mechanic needs. AutoMate provides a platform for mechanics to provide an educational service.

Currently, AutoMate is only a concept and is not a launched business. So for now, we only ask for your interaction and show of interest! Thanks!
The Why?

Hi, my name is Sebastian
​
The main reason for the creation of this concept is mainly due to a college project requirement. However, when I was tasked with coming up with a business idea, I wanted to revolve it around one of my biggest passions.
This is my first car, a 1993 Mazda Miata to which I have owned for about 4 years and counting. Long story short, it turned me into a car enthusiast and a Miata fanatic. However, through building and researching about this car, I realized some of the difficulties and even experienced the losses of owning such a project. While the internet may be filled with information that can surely help. Looking back, it would have been helpful to have better guidance on certain aspects of working on cars starting out. As a college student and an enthusiasts balancing my funds and priorities is essential. With AutoMate I hope to change the way we learn hands on and save people who are in a similar situation of their time and money in the long-term.

Services
Like your local mechanics and other shops, we offer the same services, but with a more hands-on experience for you. To get started:
1. Determine a level of service you would be interested in taking on
2. Choose a team member that fits your needs
3. Go over the project and schedule a date/location
4. We will be there when you are ready to learn and build your dream car!
Pricing
Our goal is for customers to learn about their current project so that they can save their time and money in the long term by being able to tackle a certain job on their own.

With that in mind, AutoMate utilizes a commission based pricing model where you pay for a certain level of service and essentially hire a team member of your choice who will work with you personally on a project.
​
Hiring a team member comes with an up-front cost for a certain level of service:
Journeyman: $30.00
Intermediate: $75.00
Extensive: $100.00
​
And depending on the length of service an hourly rate is charged: $35.00
​
​
If you are not satisfied with the quality of our service, 10% will be discounted to the costs and if we could not contribute to your project at all, we will refund you 100% of what you paid.
